I never said he didn't have favorites. We just don't know what His basis is for choosing some and passing over others. So how can you judge His fairness, we can't see the big picture.

my therapist and i talked about the bible, specifically, adam and eve and their sinning by eating from the forbidden fruit.
he says it is really a great lesson on consequences of your actions.
i agreed and we talked at some length about it, but one thing i decided, god was not fair.

of course, i never bothered to ask any jew what they teach about their messiah, i just assumed that the christian teaching about the jewish messiah matched what the jews believed about the coming messiah in the 1st century-not!
you've only vaguely brushed up against your jewish knowledge on this forum, at least that i've seen.

Would you call Genesis 3:15 Messianic?

What's your point? I believe he chooses men from every nation. He doesn't care where they're from

Does he provide me with only the good things or is he responsible for the evil as well?
Both.
You remind me of one of those ppl that would stand after receiving an award and say, "I would like to thank the LORD Jesus for giving me this"
That's me.

He inspired men to write down in his Word that he's not partial and doesn't show favoritism, but many his deeds show quite the opposite
Where did he do that?

How does he show mercy?
Try breathing your own air, when it comes time to die, try to keep your heart beating. Let alone anything else in life, that you have. I know I sure don't want what I deserve! I'll take mercy any time I can get it!

It was a scales-falling-from-the-eyes moment for me when I sat down and actually read a few of the "scores of messianic prophecies" with a critical eye.
I guess you must have a more critical eye than Saul of Tarsus?
OK, Guys, Gals
Here is my point! AlmostAtheist wanted a Jewish perspective on the Messiah. Do we not agree that the Gospels written by Jews, because they believed (as do I) Jesus is Messiah. I guess, it depends on which Jews you want to believe.

google posted a link to a page that made this statement
There were many more messianic prophecies that I could have added that applied to my messianic rooster. Many more he will fulfill when he comes back.

I don't know of any roosters born of a woman. How many women claimed God was the father of their child? How many of those children claimed to be God?
